Welcome to Math 10-3. Mathematics-3 is designed for students who want to learn the mathematics needed to enter most trades or want to enter the workforce after high school.
Most apprenticeship training programs in Alberta will recommend students successfully complete Mathematics 30-3. However, a small number of apprenticeship training programs may require students to complete the -2 course sequence in order to meet the mathematics entrance level.
Successfully completing Math 10-3 and Math 20-3 meet the minimum math required for an Alberta high school diploma.

Missed Days and Extra Help
If a class is missed, students are responsible for obtaining a copy of the notes and finding out what homework or assignments have been missed. This means if you miss an assignment, quiz or exam, you are responsible for making it up – on your own time if necessary. Taking personal responsibility for your own conduct and learning is the FIRST step in getting the rest of the world to start treating you like an adult!
Missed Days due to Self Isolation
If you miss classes, you will find all the handouts online at your Google Classroom.
Classroom Guidelines and Expectations
For any individual to achieve in any math course an effective and helpful learning atmosphere must be created in the classroom. In my opinion the success of any individual is dependent on the success of the class as a whole. Each student is responsible for their actions and attitudes. The following guidelines clarify what is expected of you in Math 10-3:
Respect: In this classroom we will respect each others right to learn and teach or help. We will respect each other’s right to an opinion, comment or question. Courtesy, tolerance and teamwork are always expected and required.
Class time:
It is expected that you will use class time as effectively as possible.
· At the beginning of class be prepared to discuss homework.
· We will then go into a new topic.
· When there is class time to work it is expected that you will work on the problems. Work until the bell. When working you should be in your desk, not up, not talking across the class.
Be on time and be prepared: Bring your workbook, pencil, notebook and calculator to every class.
Cell phones and music players: Cell phones will either be turned off or left in silent mode at ALL TIMES. If someone really needs to get a hold of you they can call the school. Music players will remain off while I’m teaching the lesson for the day. You MAY listen to them, with headphones, during seatwork..
